Who is Jomo Greenidge?
Jomo Greenidge, AKA Nazrhite, is a twenty year veteran of urban ministry, community service, event production, and strategic business consultation. A man on a mission, his goal is to use his business acumen, musical gifting, love of mathematics, and natural teaching rapport to connect with young people and equip them to succeed in life.
In the late eighties and early nineties, Jomo began his multifaceted foray into the business arena, teaming up with Dr. William Sacco and Michael “Chappie” Grice to produce Saturday Academy’s Contemporary Applied Mathematics summer institute program. Concurrently, he and three associates managed 3PF Productions, a DJ firm specializing in college dances, house parties, and other forms of event production. In both roles, Jomo was making a difference in the lives of Portland youth, mentally challenging them by day and giving them a safe environment to have fun at night.
From 1993 to 2000 Jomo served as a member of The Master’s Commission — A Generational Call to Character, a discipleship and leadership development network. In addition to preaching and singing in churches across the nation and being featured on CBN’s “The 700 Club”, he also served as a team leader, curriculum developer and web designer for the MC organization.
Since 2003, Jomo has been serving as co-director of repChrist, a hip-hop outreach concert series at Irvington Covenant Church. In 2004, he co-hosted and produced Portland’s first weekly Christian hip-hop radio show, “The Armory: A Holy Hip-Hop Treasury.”
A graduate of the De Vos Urban Leadership Initiative, Jomo is very active supporting urban youth workers with music, gaming, and technical support services. In 2005, Jomo launched LiveHive Interactive LLC to parlay his love of mathematics, music, and video games into a successful platform from which to produce competitive video game tournaments and events.
Currently, Jomo also serves as the manager for the Intel Computer Clubhouse in Portland, OR.
Entrepreneur. Educator. Youth Advocate. Minister. DJ. Gamer. Geek. Regardless of the hat he is wearing at the time, Jomo Greenidge is a technologist who loves Jesus Christ, kids, gadgets, and helping people. He lives in the historical Irvington neighborhood in Portland, OR. When not blogging, working on projects, or spending time with his family and friends, you can catch him on Xbox Live attempting to improve his pathetic gamerscore.
