Don’t Hate…Congratulate!
March 20, 2007
This first post is really to those that know me personally. While my personal life isn’t gonna be the focus of the blog, I feel I’ve hit a personal landmark today. The launching of this site starts our second phase in our development as an organization, as well as our influence nationally. Therefore some thanks are in order (By the way, before you start hatin’ on the title of this blog…read the About This Site page puh-leeze):
I would like to thank the original investors in LiveHive Interactive: Raleigh Paenitz, David Greenidge, Paul Greenidge, Henry Greenidge, Timothy Greenidge, & Patrick Hartley.
I also want to send out a shout-out to my fellow 2005 graduates, as well as the staff, of the De Vos Urban Leadership Initiative. This company exists in no small part to my having gone through the initiative. Big-ups to all. Don’t forget to stay connected. And yeah…I wasn’t just talking about the Portland crew, LA, Indy, Houston, & Denver too. Current students, look forward to meeting yall at some point. Oh, and Gerald, I want my $5.
Also to all staff & graduates of The Master’s Commission - A Generational Call to Character. Remember its the beginning, not the end. Holla! Special shout-outs to MPC, GJ, Red, Joel Robbie, Keli, and anyone else who slaved in Miami Beach. Yall know!
These people have had a profound impact on my life in varing degrees: Henry “Rock” Greenidge, Terry Barron, Todd Rothrock, Randy Arnett, Sean Walker, Gregory & Camille Howell, Michael “Chappie” Grice, Cottrell B. White, Jr., Jerry & Renee Ray, Geoffery Brooks, John Garlington, Tom Skinner, George Wunderlich, Dutch Sheets, John Sonneland, Steve Allen, Bob Delaney, Lon Stokes, Dallas Sphar, Gail Whitney, Keith Jones, Kevin Humphreys, Jim & Tammy Barr, Sahaan McKelvey, Dr. William Sacco, Eddie Ramirez, Kevin Hornbuckle. Thanks forever.
Other people that I have recently had the good fortune to work with: the repChrist Praise Squad, World Changers OG’s and of course Dfresh. Sharetta Butcher. Arron, Andrew, Lucas, Ric, and the crew at…well…that undisclosed location that I can’t mention due to the NDA we all signed. (If I said the company’s name many of you would recognize it because there has been a stream of people coming out of that place.) Anyway, don’t forget the cover sheet on the TPS reports. Didn’t you get the memo?
It would be wrong if I didn’t send some love to Trent, Durelle, Bleach, & Jay…yall know why.
To Mom: I know, diamonds.
Lastly, to Jelani & Ignatius: ’till the wheels fall off.
This business represents my lifework for the next 30 years. Because of that, I just want to recognize both of my grandfathers, Walter Whittingham & Ralph Greenidge. One was a preacher. The other was a businessman. They were both ministers. I want to be like them. That’s the truth.

Entrepreneur. Educator. Youth Advocate. Minister. DJ. Gamer. Geek. Regardless of the hat he is wearing at the time, Jomo Greenidge is a technologist who loves Jesus Christ, kids, gadgets, and helping people. He lives in the historical Irvington neighborhood in Portland, OR. When not blogging, working on projects, or spending time with his family and friends, you can catch him on Xbox Live attempting to improve his pathetic gamerscore.

Jomo,
If you had the opportunity to write your story today for the work you will accomplish over the next 30 years, what difference do you believe you will make in the lives of how many people?
How can I help you accomplish your works?
